Pure Organic Essiac Tea 4-4oz packs total of 16oz Natural Alternative Supplement

Description: Your first concern when choosing essiac tea should be whether or not the formula is from a credible source. After all, what is the point in taking essiac if it it’s not the real stuff? Our Formula was Developed by Rene Caisse, the Founder of Essiac.Rene Caisse is the Canadian nurse who brought essiac tea into popular use. Rene Caisse and Dr. Charles Brusch spent eight years together studying essiac tea at the Brusch Medical Research Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Additional Herbs Were Found to Enhance the Original Essiac Formula. Rene Caisse and Dr. Charles Brusch researched essiac tea from 1959 to 1967. They found that one of the essiac tea formulas consistently outperformed all others. This formula was composed of the original four essiac herbs combined with an additional four herbs. This new and improved formula maximized the effectiveness of essiac when taken as a tea. Why the “Original” Four Herb Essiac is not your Best Choice. When a company says they have “original essiac,” that is really nothing to brag about! This is because the original formula is an older one that was found to be less effective than the updated eight herb formula developed by Caisse. How Our Essiac Formula Works This essiac formula has led to tens of thousands of satisfied customers over the years. Dr. Charles Brusch and Rene Caisse researched a variety of eight herb formulas and found them to be superior to four herb blends. Dr. Brusch has stated, "Clinically, on patients suffering from pathologically proven cancer, [essiac] reduces pain and causes a recession in the growth; patients have gained weight and shown an improvement in their general health...Remarkably beneficial results were obtained even on those cases at the ‘end of the road’ where it proved to prolong life and the quality of that life...The doctors do not say that essiac is a cure, but they do say it is of benefit." Our Herb Quality is Top-Notch.We have always included the Sheep Sorrel Root.We have maintained the original herb suppliers that were recommended by Dr. Charles Brusch. All of our herbs are grown in the U.S.A. We have always included the essential sheep sorrel root in our blend. The herbs we use in our essiac formula are:1. Organic2. Chemical-free3. Pesticide-free4. Non-irradiated5. Fully mixed and blended per the exact ratio specified by Rene Caisse and Dr. Charles Brusch6. 100% Fresh--average inventory turnover is once every three weeks7. Each batch is tested and used by us before it’s shipped to customers. We obtain seven of the eight herbs we need for the essiac formula (blessed thistle, burdock root, kelp, slippery elm bark, red clover, Turkish rhubarb root, and watercress) from Starwest Botanicals, Inc. in California. Our sheep sorrel includes the root and is sourced from a private grower in Arkansas. Freshness of Our HerbsThe moisture content of our herbs is: 12-15% moisture content for the blessed thistle, sheep sorrel including the root, and kelp, and less than 10% for the burdock root, red clover, slippery elm bark, watercress and turkish rhubarb root. Our herbs are incredibly fresh because we sell thousands of pounds of essiac every month. We turn over our entire inventory of herbs every 2-3 weeks. This means that our suppliers' herbs are fresh, too. They can hardly keep up with all the essiac we are selling worldwide! Many of our customers have commented on how fresh our herbs look, smell, and taste. If you purchase essiac from an outlet that sells many different herbal formulas, you're much more likely to receive stale herbs. We never have stale inventory lying around. The Essiac Tea IngredientsAll of our essiac herbs are organic, non-irradiated, pesticide-free, and chemical-free. Blessed Thistle is used for digestive problems such as gas, constipation and upset stomach. This herb is also used to treatliver and gallbladder diseases. Burdock Root serves as a mild diuretic for those who have excessfluid. It increases the production of urine and sweat, potentiallymaking it useful in treating swelling and fever. Burdock root mightplay a role in preventing liver damage caused by alcohol, chemicalsor medications. The exact reason is thought to involve opposition ofa chemical process called oxidation, which is a reaction that occursin the body during normal metabolism. One result of oxidation isthe release of free radicals, which are chemicals that may suppressimmune function and have been linked with cancer. Thisantioxidant may protect cells from damage caused by oxidation. Kelp is a sea vegetable that is a concentrated source of minerals, including iodine, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and iron. Kelpas a source of food-based iodine assists in making thyroid hormones, which are necessary for maintaining normal metabolism in all cellsof the body. The average American is deficient in iodine. Havingsufficient iodine in the body can improve energy levels, boostthe immune system and make it easier to maintain a healthy bodyweight. Red Clover is a source of many valuable nutrients, includingcalcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine and vitamin C. Red clover is rich in isoflavones. The isoflavones isolated from red clover have been studied for their effectiveness in treating some forms of cancer. It is thought that the isoflavones prevent the proliferation of cancer cells and that they may even destroy cancer cells. Sheep Sorrel, including the root (It’s 20% root) contains anabundance of oxalic acid, sodium, potassium, iron, manganese, phosphorous, beta carotene, and vitamin C.Sheep sorrel is a mild diuretic, mild antiseptic and a mildlaxative for those in need of these effects. These propertiesmake sheep sorrel useful for ridding the body of toxins. Slippery Elm Bark has been used as a poultice for cutsand bruises, and also for treating aching joints due to gout, arthritis or other causes. This herb also helps to alleviatesore throats. Slippery elm bark is an active ingredient inmany throat lozenges. Since sore throat and cough are oftenlinked, slippery elm bark has also been used in coughremedies. It also can alleviate both constipation anddiarrhea by regulating the digestive tract. Turkish Rhubarb Root. This detoxifying herb is world-famous for its healing properties. Rhubarb root purges thebody of excess bile, parasites and stagnated food bystimulating the gall duct to expel toxic waste. It has beenshown to alleviate chronic liver problems by cleansing theliver. Rhubarb root improves digestion and increases theappetite for healthful foods. It has also been shown to helpheal ulcers, alleviate disorders of the spleen and colon, relieve constipation and help heal hemorrhoids and bleedingin the upper digestive tract. Watercress. Abundant in vitamin C, watercress is used as ageneral tonic. Its bitter taste is thought to stimulate theappetite and improve digestion. It can be used to alleviatenervous conditions, constipation, and liver disorders.Watercress is a popular cough and bronchitis remedy. It contains a remarkable substance called rhein, whichappears to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria in theintestines. It is believed that rhein is also effective againstCandida albicans (yeast), fever, inflammation and pain. There is however a beneficial effect that essiac provides for some people. In the beginning some experience an increased frequency of needing to go to the bathroom. This is a desirable effect because, once the body is cleaned out, everything will begin to work more effectively. The reason that essiac works at all is that essiac removes toxins – that is what you are hoping for! The increased frequency of needing to go to the bathroom will not be an uncontrolled diarrhea nor an uncomfortable sensation. Essiac is compatible with all prescription medications. You can take medications at the same time as you take essiac if you wish. Essiac is also compatible with chemo and radiation. Chemo and radiation can reduce the effectiveness of essiac, and so if you are using those treatments, we suggest trying 6 oz. of tea three times per day rather than 3 oz. three times per day. Essiac does not interact with supplements and you can take any and all supplements while taking essiac. You can take supplements at the same time you take essiac.* You do not have to change your diet (aside from taking essiac on an empty stomach) while taking essiac, although eating healthy is always a plus. If you choose to follow a special diet while taking essiac that is fine. *protein powder or amino acids, although considered supplements by some, are considered food for the purposes of essiac and should not be taken at the same time as the essiac. Rather, you should treat protein powder just like food and take it with meals. How to Store your Essiac Store packets of herbs in a relatively cool, dark place. Room temperature is fine as long as you keep the herbs out of the direct sunlight and away from a blasting heater or wood stove. If the room is comfortable enough to live in, it’s fine for the herbs. You may store the herbs in the original packaging or packaging of your choice. If you open a packet and need to save some essiac for later, reseal it with a twist-tie (such as the kind that comes with a loaf of bread). Unopened packets of herbs stay fresh for 2-3 years. Do not store the essiac herbs (before they are brewed into a tea) in the refrigerator. Your brewed essiac tea must be refrigerated. Do not attempt to store brewed tea for longer than two weeks, because the tea may spoil beyond that time. Store your tea in any food safe container such as the type of pitcher in which you would store iced tea or lemonade. Amber bottles are not necessary (there is no light inside your refrigerator, so the amber bottles aren’t necessary for protection from light for this product as it’s stored in the fridge). Essiac Tea Brewing Instructions Step 1. Boil the necessary amount of water in a large pot.The amounts for each size brew are*: To Make UseOne gallon of tea - 136 oz. water (This is best for aggressive dose)One quart of tea - 36 oz. (This is best for maintenance dose)One pint of tea - 20 oz. (This is best for children or small animals)*the additional water is there to account for evaporation during the brewing process Step 2. Add the appropriate amount of essiac herbs. The amounts for each size brew are: To Make UseOne gallon of tea 4 oz. herbs(If you don’t have 4 oz. packets, please weigh on akitchen scale: 4 oz. dry herbs = 113 grams--but anestimate is 1 ¼ cup using dry measurement cups) One quart of tea 1 oz. herbs (If you don’t have 1 oz. packets, pleaseweigh 28.25 grams: estimation is one rounded ¼cup using dry measurement cups) 1.Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover the pan partially with the lid to help to reduce evaporation. Due to different climates, more or less evaporation may happen leaving you with more or less tea by a little bit. It’s not a big deal. 2.Leave tea in pot, turn heat off, and let the mixture sit at room temperature for 12 hours. Do not boil the tea twice. 3.Pour the tea into a food safe container or pitcher and refrigerate. We suggest an open pitcher so that you can easily stir the mixture when you go to pour each dose. Do not strain the herbs from tea. Always shake or stir your container to blend the herbs that settle at the bottom before pouring doses. A large wooden spoon works best for this job. Although there should be a good amount of sediment, the herb particles will disperse throughout the liquid. Drink the essiac quickly before the herb particles settle. Do not reheat the tea – drink it cold. The herbs being included in the tea maximizes the effectiveness. Essiac Tea Dosage We have two main suggested levels of use for different needs. 1. Aggressive dose. We advise those who wish to address a health condition or improve health take the aggressive dose, or the aggressive PLUS dose. More details on these come in the next couple of pages. 2. Maintenance (or preventive) dose. This is what you take when you wish to keep your health the same. It might be used after finishing a course of the aggressive dose, or as a preventive. To improve taste, some mix essiac with fruit or vegetable juice, honey, or stevia. You will get used to the taste once you start using essiac regularly. If you are still not used it, try holding your nose while you take your dose and rinse your mouth out afterwards with something you like. _______________________________________________________________ **IMPORTANT** Take essiac on an empty stomach—that means no food for 2 hours before and 1 hour after your dose! Fruit/vegetable juice, water, and black coffee or tea are all ok. Medications and supplements are OK to take along with the essiac as well. It’s ideal to space the doses somewhat apart._______________________________________________________________ Example schedule:Take essiac: 7amEat breakfast: 8amEat snack: 11amEat lunch: 1pmTake essiac: 3pmEat dinner: 5pmTake essiac: 7pmHave snack: 8pmSchedule for when you wake up and want to eat right away:Eat breakfast: 7amTake essiac: 9amEat lunch: 12pTake essiac: 2pmEat snack: 3pmTake essiac: 5pmEat dinner: 6pmEat snack: 9pmSchedule for spreading the doses out as much as possible:Take essiac: 6amEat breakfast: 7amEat snack: 10amEat lunch: 12pmTake essiac: 2pmEat snack: 3pmEat dinner: 7pmTake essiac: 9pm Any combination of stopping eating 2 hours before taking essiac, and waiting 1 hour after taking essiac to eat is fine. Spreading the doses far apart is a good idea, but it’s not the end of the world if you can’t. Tip: If you are out and about during the day, take essiac with you in a thermos with a few ice cubes. That way Tip: you don’t have to miss a dose. Tip: You can add water to essiac if you have to, but it’s preferred to take it cold straight from the fridge. Essiac Tea Dosage: Detailed Info AGGRESSIVE Dose: Recommended dose is 9 oz. of tea per day, taken in three separate 3 oz. doses on an empty stomach.--You should use this dose if you have or suspect you have a health problem.--For best results, stay on the aggressive dose for at least 6 months. After that time period, you may choose to switch to a maintenance dose of 3 oz. twice per day once your test results have returned to normal. If the original health issue persists, continue on the aggressive dose until your condition improves and you're satisfied with the results. It’s OK to be on the tea for a long time. Aggressive PLUS Dose – Another Aggressive Option: This is an option for anyone who wants to be as aggressive as possible, in particular if you are on chemo and/or radiation while using essiac. This dose is also used in some cases if an individual is given less than six months to live. It’s 6 oz. of tea three times per day on an empty stomach. Note - Essiac and Chemo/Radiation: Essiac can be taken along with traditional cancer treatments without interfering with those treatments. However, if you are undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation, be aware that chemo and radiation can lessen the effects of essiac tea. If you plan to continue your chemo and/or radiation while using essiac, you might consider taking the AGGRESSIVE PLUS Dose due to this issue. MAINTENANCE Dose: Recommended dosage is 3 oz. of tea twice per day. It’s best to take one dose in the morning and one in the evening (meaning you should spread them out). Take the tea on an empty stomach.--Administer the maintenance dose for at least 6 months after your test results have returned to normal.--Some take the maintenance dose as a daily preventive supplement. This is healthy and safe in the long-term. There is no need to go off of essiac or take breaks, but you may do so if you wish.--The amount of time you should stay on the maintenance essiac dose is an individual decision. You may decide whether to continue indefinitely, or to stop using essiac once your health is under control. Taking a break isn’t going to affect how well essiac works. Your body doesn’t “get used to it.” Feel free to contact us with any questions. DETOXIFICATION Dose: A detox regimen is typically something that is done for a fixed period of time. Many people choose 3- or 6-month time periods for detoxes. However, some choose to do shorter ones. The dose for a 2-week or 4-week detox is 9 oz. of essiac tea per day, taken 3 oz. three times per day – same as the aggressive dose. A more complete option for a more thorough detox is to simply follow the aggressive dose for six months. Reason being, essiac really shines more in the long-term rather than as a short-term detox. The benefit to this long-term detox is that the results tend to be more thorough and longer-lasting. Essiac is also gentle on the body, with no unpleasant side effects. You can continue your usual diet and daily work schedule while taking it. All of these benefits make using essiac for a gentle detox a popular choice for all ages. “This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
