Description: Allen Freidlander's collection of pencil drawings include historic baseball players as well as boxers. This iconic image of "The Punch" that settled the match between Rocky Marciano and Jersey Joe Walcott in 1952 in the ring at Phiadelphia. The two fighters met on September 23, 1952, in Philadelphia. The fight proved to be a very hard-fought match for both men. Walcott spent most of the fight using his superior boxing skills and reach to keep the challenger on the outside, where he could more easily pick his shots and effectively counter Rocky's punches. Item is in very good condition, framed and ready to hang. Minimal, minimal signs of prior use, this collectible measures 24" x 19". The dark walnut wood frame is in lovely condition as well.
