I believe in "waste not want not" especially with pretty fabrics. When making blocks and tops, I usually cut the width strips I need, sew end to end and put the pedal to the floor. Sometimes I get carried away with the colors and then sometimes it's just the way of putting all the sizes and shapes together and creating a piece of art.
