Description: From the mid-200's, this vintage speaker sounded amazing back in the day. Purchased at my neighborhood RadioShack, I bought four of them to set up to my stereo receiver. They were used for a couple of years but then replaced with larger JBL speakers. I boxed them up, put them in the hall closet and forgot all about them. Recently discovering them, I decided to test them with my receiver. This was the only one that didn't sound right. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong but a neighbor opened it up and said it's most likely needing a new woofer ... which he said is available online. Manufactured for RadioShack by RCA, this is a 2-way die-cast mini speaker. Small in size but not in sound, it measures about 8.5" tall and 5.5" wide. Not lightweight, it weighs just more than 5 pounds. With a 5-inch cone woofer with patented honeycomb material between two layers of woven fiberglass, the speaker provides outstanding bass performance with minimal distortion. The Linaeum designed wide-angle monopole tweeter produces crip, detailed highs with 180-degree dispersion. It handles up to 150 watts. NOTE: It was difficult to photograph the front honeycomb material. The camera for some reason distorts the honeycomb material. It looks totally normal like on the package front photographed.
