Peterson USAFWas the American who first commanded No.71 Squadron from when it was activated in Oct/Nov 1940 until August 1942. During that period Squadron Leader Peterson, as he was then, destroyed 9 enemy aircraft, damaging a further 17 others and won both the DSO and DFC. With the advent of the USA into World War Two, all the Americans of the Eagle Squadrons were absorbed into the USAAF and Squadron Leader Peterson left No.71 to become Operations Officer with the USAAF 16th Air Force. After a very distinguished career in the USAF in which he reached two start rank, Major General Peterson retired in 1973~~~~~ Major John F. Glose USAFJoined the Air Force in 1959 as aviation cadet. He graduated as a navigator and flew KC 97's and KC 135's until pilot training in 1966. Since then Major Glose has flown F4's including a TOUR IN VIETNAM WHERE HE WON THE AIR MEDAL WITH SEVERAL CLUSTERS. He went on to be the Quality Control Officer, responsible for air testing the F4 aircraft of the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing, RAF Bentwaters ~~~~~We gladly combine items for postage and post worldwide
