Description: Russkoe narodnoe iskusstvo na vtoroj Vserossijskoj kustarnoj vystavke v Petrograde v 1913 g./ Russian folk art on the 2nd All-Russian handicraft exhibition in St. Petersburg in 1913 I do not read or speak Russian so translation of title might be a little off. This is an AMAZING pre-USSR era photography collection of folk art curated at the 1913 Stalingrad All-Russian Handicraft (?) Exhibition. Stunning pictures, color has held up VERY WELL for how old this book is. Very cool piece of pre-World War 1 / Russian revolution history documenting toy craft, weaving, and much more. Hardcover binding with gold gilt lettering and abstract patterning. 88 photographic plates in full color AND black and white with short description sheets in Russian and French. Includes essays and plates of the individual branches from the exhibition; gold-embroidery, weaving, lace and jewelry. The spine and the outer cover is almost fully separated from the internal binding. The actual pages are quite well preserved although they are aging. This book is really delicate. The binding of the cover and collection pages is separating so the pages are at risk of falling out. More photos can be provided upon request.
