Description: This offering is an extremely rare original collection of 1917 The American Angler Magazine. I found them in the estate of an Alpine, Ca. author and collector 20+ years ago. Originally they belonged to Dr. Barton Warren Evermann (1853-1932), author and San Francisco, Ca. museum director. The year starts with the Spring issue and then continues with May and is issued monthly after May. Each issue measures: 6 3/4" x 9 1/2" with an average of 54-56 pages, with Spring having 76 pages and May 48 pages (total of 497 pages = ads). there are an average of 9 pages of great vintage ads. Also included is a letter sent to Dr. Evermann. This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a group of early fishing magazines. Thanks for looking.
