Description: RARE 1919 "Friendly Fairies" Written & Illustrated by Johnny Gruelle Antiquarian 1919 "Friendly Fairies" Written & Illustrated by Johnny Gruelle. Of course, Gruelle created, wrote, and illustrated the famous Raggedy Ann stories, but he was also deeply engaged with the fairy world as this lovely book shows. NOTE: This book is distressed. The front cover is missing and the binding is loose. However, the interior pages (where it really counts) are in excellent condition with great vibrant color and clean text with no stray marks, scribbling or crayons, etc. There are 15 stories herein and they all involve fairies, gnomes, talking animals, cronies, magical settings, toadstools, well behaved children, and even Santa Claus and Johnny Cricket, as well as my favorite, a talking wishbone! Imagination has run amok here, hi-jinks ensue, and everyone lives happily ever after. Considering this book's outward condition its illustrations may be better put to use for crafting, card making, scrap-booking or such. It's up to you.FRIENDLY FAIRIES Portland Pandemoniumers Love to ReadAnd the Quirkier, the Better Mostly what you will find in our Book Nook Section are some of the Odd-Ball things that got published, regardless of their Quirkiness.
