Description: This rare 1920s Ed. Laurens "Tanagra" Egyptian hinged 50 cigarette tin is in excellent condition with no dents or rust and some very minor paint chips. This very attractive blue, white and gold tin, measuring 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" x 4", features a stunning image of a statue of a woman in a flowing white gown. Hellenistic terra cotta statues of women was discovered in the Greek city of Tanagra. The cigarettes were manufactured in Alexandria and Cairo, Egypt and sold in London.
