Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for sale is a used, "as is" condition, rare, 1932 Selmer Paris Cigar Cutter/Super Baritone Saxophone. The serial # of this bari sax is #16603 and has range to low Bb. Unfortunately, we really can't give you much history on this bari sax. The finish is about 50% worn and the other 50% has darkened over the years. We think this has the original lacquer but we cannot confirm this. If you do your research on vintage saxophones made during this time period, we've been told that the lacquer was not as durable compared to today's lacquers, which is one reason that satin silver finishes were so popular with manufacturers. As shown in the photos, you can see several areas where rings, posts, key guards and the receiver was resoldered. There are some visible dents on the top and bottom bows but nothing is smashed in. A repair shop (it wasn't us) or an individual recently installed a new set of pads so the instrument plays top to bottom. However, the new owner should expect to have some fine adjustments and some corks/felts added to quiet the key work. The neck is solid with with no cracks or previous damage. However, as shown in the photos, it is missing the horseshoe key guide and the bottom half of the octave key had a non original stem silver solder. The thumb rest was moved over but it appears to be original. The bottom bow cap has worn down over the years and an open seam is now visible. This baritone sax includes a new GWW woodshell case but if you look closely there are a few slight scratches on it from handling and warehouse storage. This instrument does not include a mouthpiece.
