Description: Rare exhibition poster from the Philadelphia Museum of Art travelling exhibition of the Barnes Collection. It features Renoir's Portrait of Jeanne Durand-Ruel for this particular poster that was used to advertise the 1995 event. (Why wasn't it called "From Cezanne to Renoir" you ask? I do not know) In 1995, eighty paintings from the Barnes Foundation Collection were selected for a traveling exhibition that culminated at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The exhibition was titled, "From Cézanne to Matisse: Great French Paintings from the Barnes Foundation," and was organized by the Barnes Foundation and curated by Joseph Rishel and Christopher Riopelle. This traveling exhibition was the first and only time that these works were ever on view outside of the Barnes galleries in Merion, PA. This poster is in excellent condition, framed and measures 21w x 31h in frame. Frame and plexiglass have scratches as shown.
