The plate is fully decorated throughout both sides using the sgraffito technique. On the display side the plate features his iconic “sprouting” profile design at center surrounded by 6 repeating potted plant and tree designs. The rear of the plate is signed METZ with a larger version of the profile design. This earlier type Metz creation is of the highly sought after high-contrast style of his that is getting harder and harder to find. The plate comes with a wooden plate display stand. The plate measures roughly 7 1/4” in diameter and stands 1 1/8” in height. The plate weighs 1 lb 2.1 oz. The plate appears to be free of any chips, cracks, or repairs though it does have manufacturing imperfections which is common in these types of hand made items. The foldable wooden display stand has normal general wear.
