Rare Alt Beck & Gottschalk 24" 1362 "Walker" Doll With Sleep Eyes

Description: This is a fantastic and RARE 24" ABG 1362 "walker" doll which was most likely made for the French market. A walker doll is a doll that when her legs move, the head turns from side-to-side. She has a bisque head with her original composition ball-jointed walker body. Her eyes are blue sleep eyes with real lashes. Her lashes and eyelid wax are intact and in wonderful condition. She has an open mouth with wonderful detailing. She has a small area behind her ear and on the side of her head where paint has peeled off. She has no crack on her head. She has no pate. Her body is in wonderful condition except for a small crack on her stomach which can be seen in some of the pictures and an area on her right hand where the paint has worn off (see pictures). She is wearing an antique outfit with pearl beading with a hat that matches. She has a long mohair wig. I wouldn't be surprised if the wig and outfit were her original outfit. The dress is made from a very heavy material and the hat has some water stains which are shown in the pictures. The netting which is part of the dress on one of her arms is starting to deteriorate and is somewhat fragile. There is a light gauzy material under the netting. She also has socks and shoes which came with her when I purchased her. This doll is late 1800s to early 1900s. All-in all this is a wonderful doll and would display very well.
