Description: Up for sale is a Rare AMT Star Trek Modeling Find - "U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-B" Chrome Kit - UNBUILTThis Rare AMT Star Trek Modeling Find - "U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-B" Chrome Kit - UNBUILT and brand new in the box. When a new model is created using the plastic injection process the manufacturer begins by making what is called a "Flash Test". This is a kit which is made and includes all the elements that will be included in the production run. The box, instructions, decals and of course the model parts on the injection spines. The model is then inspected by the team of designers to make sure it all works. That the instructions are correct, the plastic parts are correct and numbered properly and so forth. Once the inspection is complete and the kit is approved for production the box is labeled "Archive" and sent to the manufacturers archives. These kits are seldom seen outside of the factory. These six Star Trek kits are such Archive kits. They are labeled "Archive" and some include inspectors tags and other such identifiers.They are not built and include rare finds. It was discovered in a large collection recently purchased out of an estate and there is no back story as to how they came to be in the collection.
