Description: This is a very rare rare antique 19th Century (1820s or 1830s) whaling tool flensing iron cutting spade made by a blacksmith of hand forged iron.According to a couple of reference documents, this would be used to separate blubber and break down the whale after capture, incredible piece of maritime history, outstanding condition, ready to go.
