Rare Antique JM Brunswick & Balke 8’ “Eclipse” pool table

Description: This J.M. Brunswick & Balke “Eclipse” model pool table has been evaluated by a certified expert on Brunswick tables, specifically on antique Brunswick tables and has provided the following information about this table: The “Eclipse” model was produced during a company logo change, and as evidenced by the nameplate and company logo inlay on the cabinet skirting, along with additional details evident on this table, it tracks to production in the late 1870’s, making it approximately 150 years old. It has been in the current family for over 100 years. The dark background veneer is rosewood. The light background veneer is Birds Eye maple. All the trim is solid maple wood. Rail caps (tops) are rosewood or walnut and this table has ivory diamond sights. The inlay veneer used is mostly walnut and mahogany. Size: 4’ x 8’ Condition: This “Eclipse” pool table is in great condition according to the expert who inspected it. It has been fully and professionally restored in San Francisco, CA in the 1980’s with new bumpers, new leather/fringe pockets, and the wood was refinished to it’s original, natural beauty. A few small pieces of inlay were replaced professionally during the restoration process. A few areas of the wood veneer at base of legs need repair. Although this pool table has been cared for, it is an antique; therefore, minor imperfections are to be expected and additional work should be done to fully restore it to its original state once again. New navy blue felt was installed in 2013 and set up in a room where it wasn’t used. It then was carefully wrapped and stored in temperature controlled storage unit since 2015. Purchase includes antique cues and a shortened cue for those tight spots, as well as newer cues. Price also includes a bridge, a full set of balls, felt brush, triangle rack, and a wall rack that was purchased new in 2012.
