Description: Rare Antique Kurdish Mazandaran Kelardasht Kazak Oriental Rug, 6'7 x 3'6, Hand-Knotted Beautiful Kurdish Kelardasht with soft shiny wool on wool, circa 1910. Vibrant red and ivory with a deep green flowered border, hints of navy and brown. Small animals decorate the centerfield in the empty spaces aside the Memling guls. These Kelardasht rugs were woven by Karabagh Kurds who settled just South of the Caspian Sea around 1900. Similar in design to Kazak Moghans, though more rare. Low pile, a little uneven throughout. Not a perfect rectangle, slightly tapers down. No dirt, no odors, no holes. Be sure to check out my other rugs as well.
