Description: Rare Antique Primitive Horn Handled Steel Fork 18th Century. The shaft is very faintly marked ‘steel’ and passes through the handle to be anchored by a butt. The handle of horn or bone is smooth from its long use. It is increasingly difficult to find authentic forks of this age and in this excellent condition. Please see photos for details. This fork was collected in England. Forks like this were made in the late 1700’s and early 1800’s and sent across the Atlantic to the Colonies. 7 3/4” long I am listing several early horn handled forks on eBay.
