Rare Antique Topographical Gold Cup & Saucer, Possibly Fürstenberg, 19th Century

Description: Beautiful antique German hand painted porcelain cup and saucer. The cup is decorated with a detailed scene depicting the Altstadtmarkt ("Old Town market"), surrounded by the Old Town town hall (built between the 13th and the 15th centuries in Gothic style), and the Martinikirche (Church of Saint Martin, from 1195), with important historical houses including the Gewandhaus (the former house of the drapers' guild, built sometime before 1268) and the Stechinelli-Haus (built in 1690) and a fountain from 1408. The scene is framed in gold gilding. With gold gilding decorating the cup and saucer. Possibly made by Fürstenberg. The cup measures approximately 2.75 inches high and 3.25 inch diameter opening. The saucer is approximately 5.5 inches in diameter. Underside of saucer has three impressed lines near edge of foot. The base of the cup has two impressed lines and a hand drawn mark under glaze. There is minor wear to some of the gilding. The item(s) are antique and sold as is/as found unless otherwise noted. Because they are old, they were used and will not look new or new-like.
