Description: They glow in the dark! These are getting rarer to find ... they're not making them anymore! 2.75 inches wide and 2 inches tall. The pattern is spiral-like but is specifically a shell pattern Uranium glass was first identified in 1789 by German chemist Martin Heinrich Klaproth, and uranium was soon being added to decorative glass for its fluorescent effect. It fell out of widespread use when the availability of uranium to most industries was sharply curtailed during the Cold War in the 1940's to 1990's. The shell pattern is art deco and early 1900's. These two glasses have very thick glass and are incredible beautiful in any light (see photos). They are a collector's dream. These items contain some light surface scratches and a few flea bites commensurate with their age (100 years old). Please see all pictures and photos for personal grading and for more details on the description. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
