Rare Arroyo Grande CA 1890's Harker Pottery Company Porcelain Trivet / Flu Cover

Up for your consideration today is a rare antique piece of history of Arroyo Grande CA., produced in the1890's by the Harker Pottery Company, Liverpool, Ohio, a Wonderful Porcelain Trivet / Flu Cover. It has picture of baby chickens in a basket "their fist day". The store was situated on West Branch Street and was built by Aron and Alexander by their pioneer firm in the early 1890s. They moved their general merchandise stock from their former location in the lower story of the Ryan Hotel Annex and hired Brieger to become chief clerk for the firm.Brieger previously had lived here for several years, first as owner of a general merchandise store, and later as clerk for Phillips Brothers. After the death of Aron in 1909, Brieger became manager, and the firm continued to operate as Aron and Alexander until the death of Alexander in 1923. At that time, Brieger bought the stock of goods, the business and the building from the heirs.This piece would make a wonderful gift for a special person or would be a great addition to a personal private collection. I will always let you know about any major flaws. I try to provide as many pictures as possible. Therefore, they inevitably have scratches and slight imperfection (not brand new).
