Description: Italian Model 1836 Bersaglieri Piedmont Bayonet measuring 24" overall with a blade length of 18.5". Bayonet is in near excellent condition with only some light scattered age patina, brass handle showing a nice mellow age patina, tight handle, excellent working unusual press-stud mechanism. "3095 L" stamped under the guard, "7524" stamped on the pommel bottom end, the ricasso area of the blade is stamped with a "BD" cartouche. The Brass Locket and Chape on the leather scabbard have looseness. The leather shows some dryness with cracking. These could also be used as a short sword, These weapons were first produced under the reign of Charles Albert, King of Piedmont-Sardina and used in his struggle with Austria to unify Italy and used on the Artillery Carbines. An early hard to find model and in this condition. See photos for further details, clarification, and condition. See our other Edged Items at TR-West!
