Description: This iconic Mid-century ceramic box was designed and signed by Sascha Brastoff in the mid 20th century. Brastoff was a famous sculptor and ceramicist active in his Los Angeles studio from 1947 to 1963. He established his own fanciful and unique style that was often imitated. This piece depicting a dancer has the artist’s signature denoting that it came from his studio and was likely hand painted by Brastoff. It measures 7” across, 5” wide, and 1 1/2” high. It is in excellent condition with the exception of a small chip on one underside corner of the lid (shown).
