Description: ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR OF BROKEN SOUTHWEST POTS BY “KIMURA” 80; FRAMED & READY TO HANG *** Read description before bidding *** A simple yet refined depiction of broken Southwest Indigenous Peoples pots in a desert setting. Excellent use of tans, browns, and umbers in this fine work of art. I can find little on the artist, Kimura. Several of his/her watercolors can be found on-line yet there is no biographical information. I did find that Kimuras were in a Japanese detention camp in Clovis, NM during WWII. I’d like to think that a descendant painted this picture. UPDATE: On another seller's offering this signature is attributed to Gene Kimura, an art teacher in Albuquerque, NM. I cannot 100% confirm that but I think it is plausible. Framed size is 12” x 9” x 1”. The watercolor has not been examined outside the frame. The gold metal frame has some small scratches commensurate with its age and storage. The mat is clean. The watercolor itself is fresh and unmarred. Please review all photos as they are part of the description. Glare on the photos could not be entirely eliminated. If you have questions about any image, please email me.
