Rare piece Fulgurite Lightning Stone Algeria 2g 6.1cm

Description: For sale is a large piece of Fulgurite from Algeria which weighs 2g, and is 6.1 cm in length. Fulgurites are little tubes of glass that are formed when lightning strikes sand. It takes about a second to form and cool, with the temperature of the lightning fusing the quartz of the sand at around 1800 degrees celsius. They can be pretty long, up to five metres, but are fragile and usually are broken when retrieved from the sand. This specimens were recovered from the deserts in Algeria in 2022.
