Description: The Beezeebees, Designed by Kay Sean, Story by Gertrude Crownfield, Illustrated by Anne Merriman Peck, 1926, Published by Bouillon-Sanders & Chopp (New York) as part of the Swan Book Series. This adorable, very rare, vintage children's book is about of a family of "bees" called The Beezeebees. It recalls a day in their life working together with other animal/insect friends, to attempt to turn over Mr. Turtle who has become stuck on his back. It is playfully illustrated by Anne Merriman Peck, with color and/or black & white illustrations on every page. It measures 12" x 9" with 16 pages. Peck (1884-1976) was a writer, illustrator and artist. She worked as an artist and illustrator in New York, publishing in Harper’s Magazine and wrote and illustrated many children’s books. She moved to Tucson in 1948 and taught extension courses for the University of Arizona and was a founding member of the “261 Gallery” and a director of the Tucson Fine Arts Association. This sweet story would still hold the attention of a child today and would make a very unique gift! It is in remarkable condition given its age and very young readership. Due to the great scarcity of this author/ illustrator/publisher/title, and the absence of any current books of the same title, by the author, illustrator, publisher for comparison online, we conclude that this is a very scarce juvenile book in any condition, nevermind such very good condition.
