Description: PLEASE SEE PHOTOS and read condition. This is a copy of The Einstein Theory of Relativity, by Professor Hendrick A. Lorentz, Brentanos, 1920. It is a first edition. This is an historically important book. Dutch Professor H. A. Lorentz was a pioneering world-class physicist and Nobel laureate whose equations gave Albert Einstein the framework upon which he grounded his theory of special relativity. Einstein and Lorentz were close friends and collaborators. Lorentz presented theories that anticipated the theory of relativity and in effect, set the stage for Einstein. What we know as Special Relativity was once called The Lorentz-Einstein theory. Einstein also said Lorentz was the greatest mind he has ever met. This copy was owned by an engineering professor in our family (long since passed), who was the original owner. This book will be carefully packaged and shipped in a cardboard box.
