This version was produced in partnership between Paramount and Diet Pepsi. My understanding is that Paramount placed a Diet Pepsi ad before the start of the movie in exchange for a $3 discount for customers. You could pay less for the VHS version of the film if you watched a Diet Pepsi ad before the movie started (although I supposed you could fast forward to it). Luckily the commercial is actually pretty good so it's not torture to watch it. If you're a VHS collector OR a Top Gun collector, this is a must-have for your collection due to its rarity. Again, it's not ridiculously rare, but it's rare nonetheless. Please message with any questions before you purchase.
