Description: A rare and VERY COOL designed and signed Sascha Brastoff 1950's commemorative dish for Menasco Manufacturing Co (Texas). The dish commemorates the "Ground Breaking" Ceremony at Menasco's Texas Plant located in Ferrant County on September 30, 1953. The dedication is printed in gold script on the back of the dish. Menasco is known for their aircraft engines. Thus the jet in the clouds design. It features a modern jet high in the clouds with the outline of Earth shining through. The Menasco logo, the letter M with wings can be seen as well. Commemorative text on the backsides reads as follows: Commemorating the Ground Breaking Ceremonies September 30, 1955 Menasco Manufacturing Company Texas Plant Tarrant County Texas >>CONDITION: localized crazing on the upper middle to right side of the dish. There is a chip on the right lower corner. Fortunately the chip is on the underside. From the top view one can see a small chip to the rounded corner having the appearance of a small clip to the tip edge. The underside as expected shows some wear and some loss/wear to the gold text. >>DIMENSIONS: Tip to tip 9.0" square. Side to side 5 3/4" wide. A fantastic dish with fabulous futuristic design from the 1950's. Have a question? Please contact me. Thanks.
