Description: Rare vintage ELGIN Alarm gold plated hand winding Swiss made wristwatch from 1950's. Made by Elgin National Watch Company Swiss with Serial Number 4914. In good external condition with signs of use in the form of scratch and worn gold plate, which can be easily refurbished. Metallic gold dial is patinated from the age, but with preserved black inscriptions and luminous dots. The watch is fully operated. Working smothly and keeping time accurately by 17 jewels hand winding mechanism Cal.Elgin882 , which is actually AS mechanism Cal. AS1475. with sweep second and manual wind alarm. OPERATING INSTRUCTION:Wind watch: crown at 4h Set time: pull crown at 4h and set time. If you set the time reverse and pass the alarm time, this will be set reverse simultaneously. Wind alarm: crown at 2h Set alarm: pull crown at 2h and set alarm time. The alarm time can only be set reverse, setting forward is inhibited by a freewheel. Enable alarm: pull crown at 2h. Disable alarm: push crown at 2h.Coming with new brown leather band with stitches.Very rare and collectible piece.
