Description: Published in Leipzig in the 1920s, this German popular culture and mildly erotic flapper satire magazine is very rarely seen outside of private collections It's a perfect example of the vibrant Weimer Republic design style of 1918-1933. Most of the illustrations are conveniently titled in German, French, and English. It is very similar in style and content to the Parisian publication, La Vie Parisienne and includes fact and fiction, art deco illustration style, and seductively stylized illustrations usually featuring lovely scantily-clad or entirely nude women. The front and back covers are printed on heavy, very good quality card stock, and the interior pages are mostly in color, and printed on lighter-weight but still good quality paper. All pages are present. Artists: Georg Ludwig Hahn - Berlin, Theo Kovis - Berlin, Karl Staudinger - Sonneberg, Kuschel - Berlin, Plantikow - Berlin, Seher - Wein, Jaka - Munchen, Hans Leu - Berlin, The theme of this issue is Sports, likely in reference to the 1924 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the VIII Olympiad, also known as Paris 1924. The back cover is a full-page, simply breath-taking ad for the Horch Automobile Company (1904-1932), which later became part of Audi. It measures: 9.5" x 12.25". Number of pages: 28 including front and back cover. Date/ Edition: Heft 9, 1924. Condition: This magazine is in beautiful, nearly like-new condition for being nearly 100 years old. The cover colors are crisp and beautiful, and far more saturated than one would imagine with just light foxing to the right edge. There is one small 1-inch split to the lower bottom of the spine and some general wear to the spine edge. The very center page has come loose from only the lower staple. All interior pages are bright and very clean. This magazine seems to have been very carefully stored all these years. This is a rare find indeed and each gorgeous page is a unique treat for any flapper fashion, culture, and art enthusiast.
