He is considered one of the pioneers of Algerian design and has enjoyed international renown since the 1980s. He has lived and worked in Algiers since 2013. He graduated from the École Supérieure Des Beaux-Arts D'Alger in 1982, where he was awarded the title of valedictorian in interior architecture. The same year, he joined the École Nationale Supérieure Des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where he pursued a third cycle in furniture, specializing in particular in industrial design .
