Jourdan-Morhange belonged to Ravel's circle of friends and was the dedicatee of the composer's Second Violin Sonata (1927), which she was no longer able to play due to arthritis. Earlier, she had participated in the first performance of Ravel's Sonata for Violin and Violoncello (1922). The conversations assembled in this book were originally broadcast on Radio-France.
