Description: These Brazilian Pierburg Square top fuel pumps are fully restored and rebuilt. All the fuel pumps steel hard parts are inspected for wear. Any worn part is replaced. The steel parts are then stripped of their old zinc plating. The assembly screws are inspected and if ok are re bright zinc plated with the other steel parts. Damaged screws are replaced with new and correct cheese head screws. All the castings mating/sealing surfaces are machine leveled on a milling machine for a perfectly flat sealing surface. The brass inlet/outlet tubes are removed. They are cleaned and then pressed back into the casting with a retaining compound so they won't come again. The inlet/outlet valves are checked and then resealed. The fuel pumps castings are media blasted after being spotlessly cleaned in an industrial parts cleaner with a fine abrasive that cleans them and makes the finish look new. New OEM Effbe ethanol rated diaphragms are installed. The lower main diaphragm assembly's are pre-loaded to spec during assembly with the correct factory VW tool. These fuel pumps post restoration are basically new and will last for decades if they are used regularly. The pumps put out the correct 3 PSI fuel pressure. These square top pumps also have internal filter screens. The rocker pins are pressed back in with a Loctite retaining compound so they don't back out. These fuel pumps fit with generators or alternators installed. A big issue with many of the new Chinese fuel pumps sold today are the wild variance in fuel pressure they put out depending on the brand. Everyone who bolts a new fuel pump on their engine should check the fuel pressure. Many new fuel pumps put out 6 psi or more. The high fuel pressure creates all sorts of issues with the carb/carbs. These original square top fuel pumps are miles ahead in quality of any new Chinese fuel pump sold today. They also make our VW engines look factory correct.
