Recap Kit for Dahlquist DQ10 Crossovers 250V MPT Film Capacitors

Description: Up for sale here is this recap kit for a pair of Dahlquist DQ10 speakers. At this point the crossovers are 40-50 years old, and the capacitors need replacing. This kit has all the caps you need to rebuild a set of DQ-10 crossovers so they'll be good for another 50 years! This kit contains the following: 2x 0.1 uf 630v capacitors (to replace the original C7 0.1 uf caps)2x 0.15 uf 630v capacitors (to replace the original C8 0.15 uf caps)2x 0.33 uf 630v capacitors (to wire in parallel with the 8.2 uf if necessary)2x 0.5 uf 630v capacitors (to wire in parallel with the 6.0 uf if necessary)6x 6.0 uf 250v capacitors (to replace the original C3/C4/C5 6.0 uf or 6.5 uf caps)2x 8.2 uf 250v capacitors (to replace the original C6 8.2 or 8.5 uf caps)2x 16 uf 250v capacitors (to replace the original C2 14/15/16 uf caps)2x 80 uf 250v capacitors (to replace the original C1 80 uf caps) There are a few different variants of the DQ-10 crossovers, and this kit will be able to update any of them. Some DQ-10 crossovers used three 6 uf caps, and some used two 6 uf and one 6.5 uf. The .5 uf cap in the kit can be wired in parallel with a 6 uf to make a 6.5 uf. Most DQ-10 crossovers used an 8.2 uf cap, but some used an 8.5 uf cap. The .33 uf cap in the kit can be wired in parallel with the 8.2 uf cap to make an 8.5 uf cap. Just FYI, some of the earlier DQ-10s used a different set of caps--there are several different versions of the DQ-10 crossover, so please take a close look at your crossovers before you order. I can modify this kit to recap any of the DQ-10 versions, just let me know. The original 80 uf electrolytic cap (for the mid-woofer filter) is replaced with a new 80 uf film cap. This is MUCH larger than the original electrolytic cap, but you can fit it on there, and it will sound much better than the electrolytic cap. These are brand new axial non-polar film capacitors, and are rated at 250v DC (and 630v for the lower values). These caps will work great for you, and sound wonderful in speaker crossovers. Please note that most of these are larger than the original capacitors, though it depends what caps your crossovers used. Some of the original caps are film, but a lot of them are bipolar electrolytic, so the new caps will be noticeably larger. There is a LOT of room back there, so you can fit the new larger caps. I would suggest using hot glue and/or zip-ties (not included) to mount them securely. These are brand new caps, made in 2023 by Supertech in Taiwan. They are MPT (metallized polypropylene film) capacitors, which are much higher-quality than the everyday MET yellow film capacitors. These are self-healing capacitors, rated from -40°C to 105°C. They are rated at 10% but generally test within 5-6% accuracy. These are all matching, with the yellow body and dark green ends, so they will look nice and uniform for you. I had these custom-made for me, and they are fabulous! I ordered a huge quantity of capacitors in order to offer them at the lowest prices, and had some special values custom-made as well. Just FYI, your original DQ10 caps may have some unusual markings on them. Here's a guide: 1060 means 6 uf1065 means 6.5 uf1085 means 8.5 uf 1016 means 16 uf Not all DQ10 caps will be marked like this, but a fair number of them are.
