Vintage Church of LDS "Old Nauvoo" Red Brick souvenir cast with Egyptian characters from the Book of Mormon, reportedly written on gold tablets that only a few of the select could see. The story is that Joseph Smith and his followers settled in Nauvoo, Illinois and built a red brick store, above which was established the 1st Church of Latter Day Saints. The sect made bricks from which several buildings were erected, including the Temple, which was destroyed by arsonists in 1848. The original store was vandalized and disappeared. Both temple and store have been restored in latter days. Brick is small size measuring 5⅛ x 2⅝ x 1¼.
