Description: RedBot Sensor - Accelerometer: MMA8452Q 3-Axis Sensor, 5VSEN-12589 The Accelerometer Sensor is an add-on for the RedBot Mainboard that gives your robot the ability to detect bumps, motion and orientation. The sensor works by measuring acceleration forces on the x, y, and z axes. By measuring the amount of acceleration (or lack thereof), your robot can get a better understanding of its movements. The sensor has two 2×3-pin headers — one male and one female. The female header allows you to plug the sensor directly onto the RedBot Mainboard. The male header allows you to stack another I2C-interface sensor on top of this one. Use the RedBot Arduino Library to detect bumps and motion. The library includes documentation and code examples for using the RedBotAccel class with this sensor. See also the RedBot Kit which includes this sensor, the RedBot Mainboard, a chassis with motors and wheels, and three line-follower IR sensors, plus a pack of jumper wires.
