Rem-Blick (Remington / Blickensderfer) Typewriter w/ Carrying Case

Description: Old Rem-Blick mechanical writing machine / typewriter. Has some minor cosmetic flaws, but overall I think the machine itself is pretty clean. Mechanically the machine seems to be in fine condition.. A little slow, but advances, shifts, bell rings, etc. (these don't have a lot of functions). I added a little bit of ink to the ink pad and was able to type with it / get a sample. However, the feed roller flattened out from sitting against the platen for decades, and in order to get paper loaded I had to pull the paper through manually with the carriage removed from the machine. Not trying to pass this off as a machine you can immediately start writing a novel with... If you intend to type with this on a regular basis I would replace the feed rollers, platen, etc. The case is not too bad, some tears, etc., but nice structural condition. The leather handle / strap is missing, but a small piece of it will be included if you know a good leatherworker to reproduce a new one. Smells like a typewriter.. could use a couple days out in the sun. No paperwork or key. Last of the Blicks... not a lot of them were made by Remington. I am enthusiastic about typewriters, but by no means an expert or professional repair person. Pictures of the typeface can be seen in the gallery as well as a tight shot of the serial number. All pictures were taken outside in natural light and are a big part of the description. Please review them carefully, use the zoom, and make sure this machine will work for you.
