PYREX has been produced in 3 Major Categories: CLEAR (1915 -); Flameware (1936-79); Coloured (Clear and Milk Glass) (1947-) ...This series of PYREX, Solid-Coloured, Nesting, Clear-Bottom, Rimmed Mixing or Serving-Bowls was introduced as the Opal-White Product Line was phased out ~ 1986 and onward.Offered here is a - RETRO-PYREX - Solid-Colour, Clear-Bottom, Primary-Blue-Colour Topcoat, Small-Size, Round, Rimmed, Nesting Mixing-Bowl - released in the late 1980's - of the PYREX Designs Line - in MOST-excellent barely-gently-used condition.This small Mixing-Bowl likely belongs to the All (Primary) Blue Colour-Series of this type and style of Mixing-Bowl, by the process of elimination. This Bowl have a VERY FRESH and CLEAN look to it. The one-tone, solid-colour, Primary-Blue fired-on-colour is EXCELLENT AND TRUE, with no fading. This Small Mixing-Bowl's surfaces are all HIGHLY-glossy, shiny and clean. There are NO Chips, cracks, nor flea bites; NO Significant scratches nor rubs; no stains nor hazing - only a few flecks of colour-loss; a little rub on the base seat rim; some rub marks, on the interior surface, near the top - likely from stacking or gently use; some fine rubs or scratches towards the interior base from gentle use.This Small Mixing-Bowl measures - 7 1/8" in diameter across the top edge; ~1/2" width top rim; ~3 1/8" in height; 3 1/8" base seat-rim diameter. This Small Mixing-Bowl is embossed on the base - "322; PYREX "circled R"; 1L; CORNING NY USA; Production #; FOR OVEN & MICROWAVE; NO STOVETOP OR BROILER". SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION –PYREX Designs Product Line - (Primary) Blue - There are several different possibilities of Colour Series to which this Mixing-Bowl could belong to ....There was a Cobalt-Blue series released in 1990. There was a 3-piece (300-series) set and a 4-piece (400-series) set of bowls available in this pattern. The colour of these mixing bowls is a deep cobalt to navy blue colour. So, this Primary-Blue-Colour (brighter) 322 bowl does not belong to this Pattern Colour Series.There was a Blue Rainbow series released in 1986. There was a 3-piece (300-series) set and a 4-piece (400-series) set of bowls available in this pattern - with differing colour sequences for each series. Also - each Bowl is two-toned in colour - a different colour visible on the exterior surface than from the interior surface. So, this One-Tone Primary-Blue-Colour 322 bowl does not belong to this Pattern Colour Series.There was a Rainbow series released in 1986 - which consisted of Bright and Bold Primary Colours - Red, Yellow, Blue Green. There was a 3-piece (300-series) set and a 4-piece (400-series) set of bowls available in this pattern - with differing colour sequences for each series. 300-Series - Red-322, Yellow-323, Blue-325; 400-Series - Green-322, Yellow-323, Red-325, Blue-326. So, this Blue-322 bowl does not belong to this Pattern Colour Series.There was an all Red 300-series and an all Yellow 300-series (matching the bright & bold primary-colours of the Rainbow series) of mixing-bowls released in the late 1980's - so - it's likely that there was also and all Blue 300-series of bowls released as well, at the same time.PYREX Designs Product Line -Coloured, clear-bottomed PYREX - was called the "PYREX Designs Product Line".They featured solid colour(s) over clear Pyrex with the bottoms left clear; "consumer-preferred" rims; available as 300-SERIES - 3 piece (322, 323, 325) or 400-SERIES - 4 (322, 323, 325, 326) piece sets (no 324 exists) - in 16+ different, "Grouping-Named" Versions, colour combinations - where 3 and 4-bowl sets, of the same "colour combination group", often had different colour sequences. These bowls all appear to have an embossed, concentric-ring pattern on their bases.The capacities are as follows: SMALL - 322 -1QT, 1L; MEDIUM - 323 - 1 1/2QT, 1 1/2L; LARGE - 325 - 2 1/2QT, 2 1/2L; EXTRA-LARGE - 326 - 4QT, 4L.Some colour versions were ONE-tone, seen inside & out; others were TWO-toned (one outer tone and a different inner tone, seen through the clear glass).The base foot of these bowls is ample & clear. All bowls had reverse-embossed concentric info on their base's outer edge, concentric circles to the center of two dots.
