Description: Rhodochrosite Crystals, Mina Chacua, Peru. I recently returned from a buying trip to Lima, Peru. One of my purchases is this specimen of excellent semi-translucent rhodochrosite crystals. The vendor gave me the location as Mina Chacua. Upon googling this, I find that it is probably (although I cannot affirm this 100%) from the Uchucchacua Mine. You can google this mine at Mindat which has several pictures of very similar specimens. 3/4 of a pound. Just under 4 inches at longest at base.
