Description: I believe this is an original painting by British artist Richard Cosway 1741-1821, signed on the right edge of the 3 1/8” x 2 1/2” watercolor on bone. Cosway is one of the best known British miniaturists, found in some of themost important collections and museums, around the world. It looks to be labeled on the back, “Portrait of a lady” with a name after it, but unable to read the name. It’s in a 4”x 3 3/8” brass table frame. Both painting andframe are in very good condition.
