Description: For your consideration is this custom one of a kind RK2 style helmet , striped and decaled as worn by the 1962 Pittsburgh Steelers, the first regular season appearance of the vaunted Steelers “Steel” oversized decal. Helmet has been customized by adding #42 made famous by Dick Hoak and includes the most widely used facemask on the planet, the 2-bar BD-9 style mask as worn by fan favorite Hoak that year. A classic step back in time, the RK2 style helmet is readily recognized by its 12-spoke suspension and the classic shape of the slightly flared shell with handsome metal rivets. This iconic helmet is complemented by the attachment of the most recognizable facemask ever produced. These helmets are recently manufactured and include an adult size 7 3/8 suspension webbing that is identical to the originals from the early 1960s right down to the same brown thread that was used to stitch it together. Iconic decals exactly as the originals, real leather jaw pads, and gray two-toned chin strap makes this helmet nearly indistinguishable from the original.
