Amazing condition. This story first appeared in the Pall Mall Gazette's 1884 Christmas Extra (not exactly a Christmas story, of course) but didn't appear in book form until this volume was published in 1895. 50 years later, the story became a smash hit for the silver screen when it was adopted into the Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff classic. Near fine.
