Rolex Submariner Oyster Perpetual Date Watch Ref. 1680 Vintage 1978

Description: [ MENS ROLEX SUBMARINER WATCH ] Presented here is this beautiful vintage Rolex Submariner reference 1680 which is the first submariner to display a calendar date function. Serial number 546XXXX dates it to 1978. The original MK2 matte black dial has large tritium lume plots. The lumes have gracefully aged to a slight yellowish cream patina that also matches the lumes on the original hands which is something you don't always see (on other vintage submariners you'll often see hand lumes that don't match the dial lume patina, an indication of replaced hands or dials, but not in this case as evident in the photos). The lumes no longer react to UV light consistent with the decayed Tritium. Rolex crown logo and name, Oyster Perpetual Date, and Submariner Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified are signed on the dial. Automatic 26-jewel Caliber 1575 movement is in excellent working condition. Keeps excellent time with a tested 46-hour power reserve. Original crystal has minor scuffs. Original Rolex service bezel sans pearl is in good condition with minor scratches. Stainless steel case has minor scratches and it appears unpolished as all the chamfered edges and lugs are crisp. Case measures 40mm without the crown and lug width is 20mm. Original screw-down crown winds smoothly and effortlessly. Bracelet is a Rolex Oyster 78360 with AD9 code stamp. There are 10 solid links with minimal slack and with minor scuffs, and can fit wrists up to 6.5 inches. Watch stand and other props shown in the photos not included. No original box and no papers.
