'ROLLING STONE' Magazine Special Collector's 1000th Issue W/ BONUS 1974 Issue!!

Description: 'Rolling Stone' magazine began in 1967. And it's still being published to this very day! Founder Jann Wenner and his media empire sold the magazine in 2017, to Penske Media. The first issues in the 60s were on newspaper paper, with no staples. That eventually became a rather large magazine, (with staples), then normal size, and bound (like a book). The magazine always featured music, movies, and politics, with album reviews, slick ads, and many color pics! It always came out every two weeks, but is now monthly. In May 18/June 1 of 2006 (they would also do double issues), the magazine celebrated issue ONE THOUSAND, and spent a MILLION dollars on the cover! (About $1.54 million in today's dollars.) The cover is an awesome collage of MANY people, some who are gone, many who are still with us, and in a wild holographic 3D looking pic! How many do YOU recognize? (I got about 85 -90 % correct.) Even the back page, an ad for Target, is holographic! This issue is filled with many articles about past issues, and their covers. A fantastic collector's item, and fully intact. No pages are ripped or torn, and no pages are dog-eared or handwritten on. The only flaw is some pages are a bit wrinkled. I seem to remember it came like that, but I could be wrong. Like it could have come into contact with moisture, but not wet, as that would look different. And it's not every page. Overall in good condition. I'll also add a FIFTY year old 'Rolling Stone' issue from 1974! Featuring a sketch of a soldier on the cover, this issue even talks about the impeachment of Nixon (who resigned before they could do that). On paper that is a little thicker and a little sturdier than newspaper paper (though not by much). This issue is definitely showing its age, but still intact. All pages appear to still be there. An incredible look back at a half a century ago, in the mid 70s, when many changes were happening right before our eyes. An interesting and historical glance at our culture from fifty years ago!
