Roman Coin Constantine II - VIRTUALLY MINT STATE (20Z63).

Description: Constantine II 337-340 A.D. Constantine II was the eldest son of Constantine the Great, and was born in 311 A.D. From 337 A.D. to 340 A.D. he reigned jointly with his younger brothers, Constans and Constantius II, but eventually sought to rule outright. His efforts were rebuked by Constans, who had him ambushed and killed in 340 A.D. Reverse reads: GLORIA EXERCITVS "To the glory of the army" Two soldiers holding spears and shields, two standards between them. ************************************************************************ A NOTE ON CERTIFICATES OF AUTHENTICITY When selling common variety Roman coins, a "CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY" is sometimes used as a ploy to overcharge the buyer. Before you pay good money for a low grade coin backed by a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY, consider the following: There is a myth that a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY will give the buyer added protection if the coin turns out to be a modern reproduction. This is untrue. A buyer is always entitled to a refund if the seller has made a false claim that a coin is ancient, even if the seller doesn't provide a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. This applies everywhere, not just on ebay. Another myth is that a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY is important because many coins advertised as "ancient" are actually modern reproductions. But common variety Roman coins are rarely manufactured by forgers, simply because there's no money in it. Common Late Roman bronzes can be found in nice condition for about $20.00, so forgers stick to reproducing more valuable coins, typically those made of gold or silver. Yet another myth is that an item is more likely to be genuine if it comes with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. But in reality, absolutely anyone can issue a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICTY, and it therefore provides no reassurance whatever. allancientcoins doesn't rely on CERTIFICATES OF AUTHENTICITY to attract customers. We just offer the highest quality coins at a fair price. As a result, we enjoy the support of our many return customers, who form the mainstay of our business. Thank you for your time. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. ************************************************************************ Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
