Author Biography ANDREA BERRY An award-winning journalist, author, and video producer, Andrea Berrys professional work has been recognized by several organizations, including two Emmys from the southeastern chapter of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Georgia School Boards Association, the National Black Programming Consortium, and the Texas Medical Association. A native New Yorker, Andrea graduated from Manhattans High School of Performing Arts, and earned a Bachelors degree from Sarah Lawrence College. A longtime volunteer in the Decatur, GA community where her daughter attended grades preK-12, she has been a PTA officer and a community member of the former Glennwood 4/5Academy school governance team. PEG BUMGARDNER A longtime Atlanta area resident, Peg Bumgardner is a financial consultant to small, creative firms. Over the years, Peg has donated her time in several capacities with organizations that include Druid Hills Youth Sports, the Center for the Visually Impaired, and the Oakhurst Recovery Program. Since her son started school, Peg has volunteered her time in the City Schools of Decatur, holding several positions as PTA/PTO officer at Clairemont Elementary School, the former Glennwood 4/5 Academy PTO, and Renfroe Middle School (RMS). In May 2008, Peg was recognized as Glennwood Academys Volunteer of the Year. That same year, she was elected as one of the first parent members of the RMS school governance team, serving two years. That experience inspired her campaign for an open seat on the CSD Board of Education in 2011. She continues to be an engaged parent for her son in the CSD system.
