Description: Item Is in GOOD condition with some normal minor shelf wear expected for a vintage book. The pages inside are very good with no dog-earing or bent pages; there are several pages, such as page 34-35, and page 28-29, where someone took notes in pencil in the margins, but then erased it. There are several pages in the book where there are dark pencil or eraser marks/spots on the inside margins near the binding, but it is on few pages. When printed, the pages were "torn" instead of straight cut; some of them are not torn evenly and stick out, but that is a printer idiosyncracy and is not wear. There is no dust jacket. The hardback cover boards are covered in blue canvas and are in GOOD condition with one dent on the top right front corner, but no scratches or tears; it has minimal fraying along the top, side, and bottom edges, with fraying especially on the crown and foot of the spine, but all is minor. There is one fray on the bottom corner and a small splotch stain on the bottom. Spine is intact with a library binding-no loose pages. No creasing. (Please see pictures as they are part of the description). Overall in GOOD condition. This book contains three profiles of Spanish women important in the early history of California and in the Anza Expedition. Put out by the Friends of the Bancroft Library, Berkeley, CA.
