Description: Here's a Royal Watcombe Torquay Motto Ware egg cup. This is a single and done in the cottage motif. Torquay made these between 1870 and the 1960s so it's difficult to date. The motto is "Laid Today". I'm not quite sure what they mean by that (smile). This stands 2 7/8" tall and is 1 5/8" at the base. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. The finish is glossy and rims are smooth. There is a little uneven glaze at the sitting rim but it isn't readily apparent. Please take a look at my other listings.
