A very difficult task. Mainly written in iambic pentameter, Mr. Roe believes that that form best fits with the English translation rather than the original Persian. Octavo, 9” ” x 5.75” OVERALL CONDITION: FINE Gilbert James (1865 - 1941) was one of the earliest and most prolific of the artists to take up the challenge of providing illustrations for Fitzgerald’s verses and his work was reprinted many times in different forms throughout the 20th century. CONDITION: The book is in exceptional FINE condition. Looks almost brand new and it is 114-years-old. Minimal rubbing, some age-toning to pages. Beautiful!
